Open Evening

We love our school and are always excited to show new parents/carers and children around. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the safety of our staff and children remains paramount and so we will not be running our popular open day and evening events. We had planned to run one Parent Evening but we have been notified today (14.10.20) by Brighton and Hove Council that all schools have been advised with the current rise in cases not to hold any Parent events. In order to protect our community, we have unfortunately decided not to hold an Open Evening but will continue to review this if the situation changes. However, we have created a virtual tour below so you can get a feel of our school. Please also find details regarding our Zoom meeting where you will get to meet the team and we will be answering any questions you might have about the school.

Welcome to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)

At Saltdean Primary School, we love the early years! Over the last 4 years we have worked hard to develop both our classroom and outdoor provision with a child-centred and active learning approach. We were delighted that this was recognised in our most recent Ofsted inspection:

'Reception teachers provide challenging activities in an exciting and well-resourced outdoor area, developing children’s imaginative learning through play. Across all early years classes there are clearly focused learning activities. Teachers have a good understanding of each child’s attainment on entry. They use this information to adapt the early years provision, addressing any specific gaps in children’s development quickly. Consequently, children in Reception make consistently strong progress and a high proportion reach a good level of development by the end of the early years. Parents recognise that the Reception environment nurtures and challenges their children well. They are delighted with the good start that their children make at school.'

Whilst we can't invite you into school, we have created the video above to give you a flavour of a day for a Reception child. We hope you enjoy!

Virtual Tour

Choosing a primary school for your child can be difficult especially when we are lucky enough to live in Brighton and Hove with so many great schools. We believe that you get a 'feel' for a school and this is vital when finding the right choice for your family. We really wish we were able to invite you in to see our school as we are incredibly proud of not only our children, but our environment too. Please find below our 'Virtual Tour' which offers a walking guide around the school.

We will be holding a Webinar on Thursday 3rd December from 6.00pm-7.00pm. This is an opportunity for parents/carers to hear about the school and ask questions. We kindly ask that you either email your questions in advance (please see our school email address on our home page) or type them in the 'message' feature during the webinar.
